Taylor turned 1 this week! We can’t believe a whole year has passed. We can’t imagine life without her.She seems to like her new ball pit. She got sad when kept her from touching the lit candle. The frown was so precious we didn’t even try to get one with her smiling.Giving kisses to her new baby…a gift from Grandpa and Grandma Johnson. They were able to see her open it on Zoom.We had Thanksgiving dinner for Taylor’s birthday because we are so grateful for her. It might be the start of a new tradition.Taylor waved to the ducks while feeding them on her walk.Abbie’s cross country team finished 5th in state, and we found out this week that she was named to the all-conference first team.
Abbie has been busy all summer working on her room. From painting her closet, selling her dresser, buying new shelves, and a new bedspread, she’s got it looking great. We offered to pay anyone $40 to paint our pantry. Jake took the challenge, and 6 hours later we have nice clean and new looking shelves.Taylor’s been working on her ABCs…not much progress but a lot of fun in the process 🙂This girl loves the outdoors. She’s pretty content in her stroller, bike trailer, or sometimes just sitting outside. Our next-door neighbor, Farhan, completed his residency at the local hospital in internal medicine. His wife, Samira, threw a celebration for him and we were honored to be invited. Their daughter, Rahman, is about 6 months older than Taylor. On Saturday, we got the young men together for a service project. We rebuilt fire pits at the camp the church just purchased. It is called Camp Restoration Point. I joke with our stake that it got it’s name because of all of the work it needs.
Taylor likes to sit up in her swing and stroller. Looks uncomfortable to me, but apparently not to her.She is into all of her toys now.….really into her toys 🙂She loves baths, and for some reason especially sucking on a wet washcloth. She really liked her borrowed walker. We had a family work day on Memorial Day and got the yard in shape. Abbie shaped the bushes in front.A robin family made a nest in our wreath on our front door. Abbie and I had to rescue them twice when a storm blew them out of the nest.
We all tried to find things to do around this house this week. It was perfect timing to read the Allegory of the Olive Tree, as the peach tree needed to be pruned. Jake made all sorts of things with the pruned branches, including a bow and arrow, a catapult, and whatever the square-looking thing is.
Abbie stole Brooke’s phone and took pictures of her best mom impersonation. Brooke does love the head massager.
Taylor took lots of naps, hung around the house in PJs, and tried out her jumper. She loves to blow bubble with her mouth (resulting in lots of drool. 🙂 She got her second round of immunizations this week and so was feeling a little under the weather. Doing better today.
On Tuesday we remembered our sweet little Braxton. He would have turned 17 years-old.
We kept his overalls for all of these years, never thinking that they would be worn by another one of our babies. Lucky for Taylor they are back in style!
On Wednesday our sweet Taylor turned 4 months old.
Taylor is a happy baby. We fight over who gets to get her out of her crib after a nap.
Between naps and meals Taylor took in the track meet.
Abbie finishing the mile with a time of 6:54.

Abbie got breakfast in bed on her birthday.Grandma Karen, and Stacey and Paige made their annual trip up for Abbie’s Birthday. They all went to The Gathering Place in Tulsa, and new, huge, city park. The cousins always enjoy getting together. The next weekend, Abbie invited her friends from school over for a birthday night complete with hot dogs and smores. Abbie has been blessed with a good group of friends at school.

We had a great time on the 1st annual Johnson family night skiing trip at Brighton.Christmas at grandma and grandpa’s is always special. We got to spend a couple of days at the cabin. A real treat from our kids who hardly ever see snow. Abbie and Jake spent what seemed like forever just sledding on the driveway.
Between aunts, cousins, grandparents, and even her great-grandmother, Taylor had plenty of love.
Abbie got to go with me to her first BYU basketball game thanks to Scott and Daniel. They beat Oral Roberts. It was a little ironic that we traveled from Oklahoma to see them play a team from Tulsa.Game time with the Scott Family.
Our sweet little Taylor. Carter did his first diaper change 12-15-19. He did a good job.All ready for a white Christmas.Abbie had her middle school Christmas concert on Thursday night. She’s on the last row toward the left side.Looking forward to meeting my grandma and grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins in Utah this week!
